Gouty Tophi Surgical Treatment...

Gouty tophi is a very complicated condition, for most people, it may not affect much on their daily life except the not so nice looking lumps on the surface of on the skin. But if a gouty tophus is growing on some important musculoskeletal structures such as ligament, cartilage, tendon and bone, it may cause serious problem in the long run and can possible cripple the patient. If you suspect there is some urate crystals form in the above mentioned place that makes you hard to move certain part of your body, then you should seek help of professional surgeon to remove it before the tophus grows further.

There are 2 types of gouty tophi, semiliquid soft and solid hard. It is easier to remove a tophus when it is in semiliquid form, simply by making a small incision to leech out white milky fluid filled with fine urate crystals. But if the tophus is already solid hard, the surgery will be more complicated because the solid tophus may have encapsulated some blood vessels, nerves and muscles during its growth. Thus, a very detailed diagnosis and mapping of the gouty tophus has to be conducted before any surgery is recommended.
Here are some conditions in which a gouty tophi surgical treatment is urgently needed:
  • The tophus is causing immense pain frequently.
  • The tophus can possibly cause skin ulceration (burst).
  • The tophus is infected and there are sinuses.
  • The tophus has cause serious physical damage to the joints.
If you are suffering from any of above mentioned conditions, kindly seek professional consultation in the nearest hospital before your condition get worse.

How Can Gouty Tophi Be Dissolved Naturally?

The answer is... YES! But it's going to take as much time as the gouty tophus took to form to the current stage. Take a look a the video below to get an idea that gouty tophi can be dissolved naturally. But before we can talk about dissolving the existing gouty tophi, we have to focus how to stop the further formation or growth of the tophi FIRST. It makes no sense if you are try to dissolve on one end while it's still growing on the other end. First of all you have to stop eating all high purine foods or foods that are known to be able to trigger gout attack. Then you will have to start consuming more alkaline foods , generally are mostly green leafy vegetables to increase the alkaline minerals content in the body. Alkaline minerals play a very important role in 'pulling' the uric acid molecules out from the giant crystal unit of gouty tophi, alkaline mineral serves as a powerful magnet that can disengage the building blocks of the gouty tophus. Once the...

How Temperature Affects The Formation of Gouty Tophi?

Have you ever wondered why gouty tophy only found on certain parts of the body such as earlobe, fingers, elbow, knee, and almost only on the surface of the skin. Before I explain about this phenomena, I have to briefly discuss about the heat regulation of human body. Every cell in the body does generate energy and some heat in the process of metabolism, but for a healthy human body, majority of the body heat is generated in organs that are constantly working such as heart, liver, and brain, thus the center of heat is in the torso and and middle of the head. But there must be some channels for the body to dissipate excess heat in order to maintain the body temperature at 37.5 degree Celsius.  The 3 Channels of Body Heat Dissipation Heat Distribution Put a hand close to your mouth or nose and then slow breathe out, you can feel the warm air blowing on you hand, that is heat dispersion through breathing. If you dare, try to collect your pee in a paper cup and then dip...

Coffee and Gout - YES, It Does Cause Attacks!

Who doesn’t like a cup of coffee in the morning? As you wake up to the morning rush, one of the first things you look for is some caffeine to wake your cloudy mind up. Well, rushing through the morning traffic jam half-sleepy is not a wise idea anyway. Unfortunately, it is not just you that coffee wakes up. It wakes GOUT ATTACKS up as well. This article aims to explain why coffee triggers gout attacks. Study suggests that. . . Study suggests that coffee is good for gout sufferers. That is one of the many vantage point coffee-supplement vendors emphasize. While it is true that there are several studies about coffee such as a study suggesting that moderate coffee drinkers suffer less from gout , none of them proved so. This is because those are simply statistical studies. They are experiments that goes like this: Statistician asks you “How old are you? Are you a gout sufferer? Do you drink coffee? How often?” then returns after a few couple of years asking the same set of...
