How to Remove Tophi On Elbow

Gouty tophi that grows on joint is the most annoying type of tophi lump. It is fine when the size is small, but as it increases its size to become a protrude structure, this tophi lump will affect the movement of that particular joint and eventually prevent the joint from moving at all! Among the "common joints" of tophi formation are on the fingers and elbow.

Gouty tophi only happens on people who have been suffering from gout or hyperuricemia for a long period of time (more than 5 years), but tophi on elbow usually happen when high uric acid was left untreated for more than 10 years. That's why we only see tophi on elbow on older gout patients.

Unlike tophi lumps around fingers, people tend to ignore the growth of tophi on elbow. This is because tophi lump usually grow at the back of the elbow and the patient himself seldom sees it in his daily activities, even when they are standing in front of a mirror (unless when he is tying a tie). The patient only realize how serious  tophi on elbow is when this lump is affecting the free movement of the elbow or it grows so big and very uncomfortable to live with it.

If you are wondering how to remove tophi on elbow, the answer is very straight forward, surgery. It's almost impossible or its going take very long time in order to shrink or dissolve the tophi on elbow with the help of alkaline water or ionic calcium. The most practical solution is to first go through a physical surgery to remove the stone and then control the uric acid level with the help of alkaline ionic calcium water in order to prevent the re-growth of the gouty tophi.

The problem with hyperuricemia is that it doesn't bring any discomfort or pain at the early stages, but when the symptoms such as gout attacks or tophi occurs, it means the uric acid level is already very high and it's going to take some time to reverse the process. Of course, this reversal process can be sped up with the help of alkaline ionic calcium, but do bear in mind that you might need to go through some healing crisis in order to flush the uric acid out from the body. You either bear with the healing crisis pain now or deal with never ending gout pain for the rest of your life.

It makes no sense if you are try to dissolve on one end while it's still growing on the other end. Then you will have to start consuming more alkaline foods , generally are mostly green leafy vegetables to increase the alkaline minerals content in the body. Alkaline minerals play a very important role in 'pulling' the uric acid molecules out from the giant crystal unit of gouty tophi, alkaline mineral serves as a powerful magnet that can disengage the building blocks of the gouty tophus. Once the...
